The C word…Christmas (Part 4)
The last instalment of our Christmas series. Christmas Day is officially 8 days away… the countdown is on. In today’s free resources I have included symbols for you to use to the lead up of Christmas Day and the day itself. I have also included a template for a daily schedule and what that can look like.
Remember visuals help reduce anxiety, help with transition, language processing and so much more!
My top tips for Christmas Day:
Use visuals
Have a schedule for the day
Keep one thing the same (breakfast, the time of dinner etc) familiarity is key for children on the spectrum.
Remember Christmas Day can look like whatever you want and what works best for you and your family.
Be kind to yourself (If you are anything like me you are exhausted, so my final point is please be kind to yourself. If that means an extra episode of Paw Patrol so you can finish your coffee and half a box of celebrations, do it).
Merry Christmas!
