The C word…Christmas (Part 1)

That is right! Tis the season…where chocolate can be eaten for breakfast, presents are beginning to be bought and wrapped, decorations up and we are dusting off the carols for the school productions. I love Christmas BUT it is one of the toughest times to navigate when supporting children on the Autistic spectrum, children struggling with anxiety, those who have ADHD or any additional needs.

With that in mind I will be doing some Christmas top tips leading up to the big day. Today we start with routine. In a time where routine goes out the window it is essential as an adult raising, supporting, working with a child (especially with ASD) to make sure you are creating routine amongst the change. Keep your morning routine, after school and bed time the same. Dust off those visuals and create a calm, structured and clear routine admits the nativity rehearsals, decorations and preparation for Santa! I have created some FREE downloadable visuals for you to use in your home - Enjoy!
